Traditional wet cupping (hijama)

Hijama is a therapeutic prescribe rooted in traditional Islamic medicine. Wet cupping uses light suction combined with small, superficial skin incisions to draw out a small amount of blood, and is traditionally used to support the body’s natural renewal. Every treatment is carried out with care and tailored to your comfort and individual needs with a 20 minute massage included prior to each session.

Benefits may include:

  • Easing aches, pains and deep-seated muscular tension
  • Relief from headaches
  • Support with PCOS and PMS symptoms
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Fertility
  • Supporting blood circulation
  • Encouraging a sense of physical renewal and detoxification
  • Promoting relaxation and overall wellbeing
  • Supporting your spiritual, physical and emotional recovery

New to cupping? If you feel nervous about trying wet cupping for the first time, we recommend starting with dry cupping. It uses suction only, with no incisions, so you can become comfortable with the sensation before deciding whether wet cupping is right for you.

Wet cupping may not be suitable for the following conditions:

  • Pregnancy
  • Are taking blood-thinning medication, such as warfarin or anticoagulants
  • Bleeding, clotting disorder, anemia, or low blood pressure.
  • Have a blood-borne infection, such as hepatitis or HIV
  • Heart condition or a pacemaker
  • Diabetes that is not well controlled
  • Undergoing treatment for cancer, including chemotherapy
  • Have a skin infection, open wound, sunburn
  • Have recently had surgery, or have a fever or acute illness
  • Have recently donated blood
  • Are prone to fainting

If you are unsure whether cupping is right for you, please speak to your GP first. We will also carry out a full health consultation before any treatment.

Dry & fire cupping

Unlike wet cupping, fire and dry cupping are completely non-invasive treatments that function like a reverse deep-tissue massage—offering the perfect, fast-acting recovery for busy mothers and professionals.

Instead of applying downward pressure, the suction gently pulls muscle tissue upward to decompress it, rapidly circulating oxygen-rich blood to your body's primary tension points. Any temporary marks or discoloration are simply signs of this boosted blood flow, which works to immediately soothe the chronic aches, poor posture, and deep-seated stress caused by years of juggling family life, desk work, or strenuous exercise.

Fire cupping simply uses a small flame to create a vacuum inside glass cups.

The flame goes out instantly, but it warms the glass and creates a gentle suction when placed on your skin. This warm suction acts like a reverse deep-tissue massage, pulling up tight muscles to increase blood flow. The soothing heat melts away stress and relieves deep aches, making it perfect for busy mums and tired professionals.
